Frosty Morn
Though your presence is gone,
your spirit lives on
in the little things bound in our memory;
all the joy and good cheer
you spread year after year,
we were as fond of you as ever we could be.
You helped many a child ride elegant and styled,
through Pony Club Bannockburn;
you helped open their eyes, to be kind and wise
for in the horse world there is much to be learned.
Through many years of blood, sweat and tears
you helped Mill Creek in so many ways.
With dirt on our chins
there was laughter and grins
on those twelve hour “Young Rider” days.
Never short of a smile
you stayed for awhile
and waited for the field to return;
you’d have pretzels and cheese— “Would you like some?” “Yes, please.”
One more pleasure for which we will yearn.
With so high a regard
did we hold how you starred
as leader of the mobile field;
the joy was unanimous
as the cheers ran out of us
when your “colors” award was sealed.
Then to our dismay
the Lord called you home one day
and sadly, we know you must go.
Such a very dear friend
from the beginning to the end;
hark to His horn, Sollie, and Tally Ho!
