Notes of Interest
Setting: Virginia—mid 1800's
Before Pen to Paper: I was recovering from a serious neck and head injury when these characters came to life. I have since learned to compensate but the injury severely affected my inner ear and my balance for years. Fletcher's affliction intrudes on his life as it did mine. Other parts of the storyline are based on actual happenings in my life, as are the surroundings. My grandmother's home (demolished before the creation of The National Historic Register) had been built by a bootlegger with hidden compartments, peepholes and tunnels leading to the river. The home's uniqueness was a parents' nightmare but a child's delight!

"A lively historical romance set against the backdrop of the antebellum South....Groover displays a commanding style and creates an appealing cast of colorful characters. As for the key ingredient, there is plenty of romance from beginning to end. This chivalrous romance has plenty of twists and turns to keep fans turning the page."

"It does have engaging characters, excitement, and page-burning intensity. And it is well worth reading. If you have not read anything by Bobbi Groover, I suggest you read Season of the Shadow, and then read Inn at Little Bend…I look forward to the third book in Ms. Groover’s Crisfield, Virginia trilogy when both couples are plunged into the fury of the Civil War.
